A parent hears your name from a neighbor, or types “daycare near me” into her phone after bedtime, and the next thing she does is look for your website. If it answers her questions, she books a tour. If it’s a logo, a phone number, and a stock photo, she moves on to the next center. Here is what a daycare website has to do to fill enrollment, and what we built for a Springfield daycare that had none.
How parents actually choose a daycare
Word of mouth starts most searches, and the internet finishes them. In the 2019 National Survey of Early Care and Education, the most common way families searched for care combined friends and family with an internet search (37%), and another 28% leaned mainly on internet search and social media (ACF/OPRE analysis, 2024). Parents also compare. In the 2012 survey, 62% of households considered more than one provider (Urban Institute review, 2024).
So the referral gets you on the list, and the website decides whether you stay on it. That comparison happens at 10 p.m. after the kids are asleep, when nobody at your center can pick up the phone. Her questions never change. Do you have an opening for a two-year-old, what are your hours, what does it cost, are you licensed, what does a day look like. A site that answers those before the call gets the call.
The trust signals a daycare website needs
Parents choose with their hearts and their research, so the site has to satisfy both.
- Real photos of your rooms and your staff. Parents are picturing their child in that room with that teacher.
- Licensing and safety. Massachusetts parents can look up any licensed program in the state’s EEC child care search, so put your license, ratios, and pickup policy up front.
- A sample day, the curriculum, and meals. A schedule tells a parent more than a paragraph of adjectives.
- Hours, a tuition range, and openings by age group. A range beats silence, and “now enrolling toddlers” beats “contact us.”
- Enrollment steps and what happens after the tour.
- Spanish where your families speak it. Many Western Mass parents are more comfortable in Spanish, and a site written for them is the difference between a tour booked and a tab closed.
Answering enrollment questions any hour
You answer the same handful of questions all day, and the parent researching at night gets no answer at all. Manny AI, trained on your own content, answers “do you have openings for a 2-year-old” the moment it’s asked, in English or Spanish, and captures the parent’s name and number for your morning follow-up. On our Get Found plan it answers and captures the lead; at Get Booked it also books the tour straight into your calendar. It’s the same fix we describe for missed calls, applied to enrollment.
A simple admin the center runs itself
If updating the site means emailing someone and waiting, it goes stale. Every site we build comes with an admin the center runs, easy enough to use between drop-off and snack time. For daycares it keeps enrollment inquiries, the children enrolled, and parent communication in one place.
Ranking in your town
Three things get a daycare found in Springfield, Chicopee, or Holyoke. A complete Google Business Profile with the right primary category (“Day care center” or “Preschool”), real photos, and current hours. Reviews from current families, answered every time; in a 2016 national survey, 27% of parents called ratings on a website “very important” when choosing care (Urban Institute review), and our guide to getting more Google reviews applies here too. And one page per program or age group, so “infant care in Chicopee” has a real page to rank, the on-page half of local SEO.
What we built for JK Daycare
JK Daycare in Springfield had word of mouth, no website for parents to vet them, and a phone nobody could pick up midday. In two weeks we built their website, an AI agent that answers parents’ questions from the site’s own content, and a tour request form, on a site that scores 100 on Lighthouse. Their owner’s words after launch:
“We’re fascinated with our new website and admin. We can manage our children and communicate with their parents effectively, and the system is so easy to use, and fast. We’ve only been live a week, and we can already see our traffic growing day by day.”
Where MannyKnows fits
We build the site, set up the Google profile, add Manny AI, hand you the admin, and keep it fast and current every month; the website plans and pricing page lay out each tier. Already have a site? Run it through the free AI website analysis and see what a parent sees.
FAQ
How much does a daycare website cost?
Details are on the plans and pricing pages.
Can parents book a tour on the site?
Yes. Every daycare site we build carries a tour request form, and on Get Booked, Manny AI books the tour into your calendar during the conversation, so a parent asking at 10 p.m. leaves with a time.
Can we update it ourselves?
Yes. The admin is yours from day one, for hours, openings, photos, and messages to families. JK Daycare’s owner called it “so easy to use, and fast.”
Have you built for daycares before?
Yes. JK Daycare in Springfield launched in two weeks with a website, AI agent, and tour form, and saw traffic growing within its first week live.
If your center has openings a parent couldn’t find at 10 p.m., tell us about your program.
